About

The first meeting of a group of haemophilia treating clinicians, for the group that would become the Asia Pacific Haemophilia Working Group (APHWG), was held alongside WHA in Melbourne in 2013. APHWG was formed in 2014 as an independent group of health professionals involved with the care of people with haemophilia and related hereditary bleeding disorders from the Asia Pacific region.

Over the last 3-4 years APHWG has evolved gradually and has conducted multiple training workshops, published the Asia Pacific Principles of Haemophilia Care and created a format for outcomes data collection.

APHWG is officially incorporated as a legal entity in Singapore in 2020 and renamed as the Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders-Asia Pacific (AHAD-AP).
